It's hard to believe it's been three years since Leonard Nimoy died. Though Nimoy was 83 years old when he passed and had spoken publicly about his struggle with COPD, the news of his death was still a shock to the Trek world.
Nimoy's portrayal of Mr. Spock touched fans of all generations and today, on the anniversary of his death, people are taking to Twitter to remember him. Have some tissues handy, these tweets are a doozy.
One of the sweetest stories I've heard is that he cried when he saw Karl Urban's performance in the 2009 film because it reminded him so much of DeForest Kelley.— Thad Hait (@Tyranicus) February 27, 2018

3 years ago, I woke to a message from an old high school friend who was living in NY at the time. It said, "I'm sorry for your loss." Confused, I responded with question marks. She proceeded to send me a breaking news article that Leonard Nimoy had passed away. https://t.co/anjPk7xWXj— Holly Amos (@hollyamos22) February 27, 2018
For me you never really knew except for his roles on tv and film. At his last con in Vegas I got to hear his stories of joy and pain from his mouth. That day, I will always remember.— Chris (@TrekFanLV) February 27, 2018

Here’s his final, poignant, tweet. ? https://t.co/lnt46lzDdT
At the very first Star Trek Con here in KC in 1976 they showed the blooper reel where Adam Nimoy walked on the bridge in Spock’s ears and when they saw each other is juts seemed like the purest joy. It showed me the actor behind Spock— Madison (@MaddieStar) February 27, 2018
3 yrs ago today the actor that made our pointy eared friend left us.— Spectral Canvas (JN) (@SpectralCanvas) February 27, 2018
It must have been frustrating to being almost remembered just for that one role but he honestly made the character.
No one else could take his place.

3 years ago today the news that Leonard Nimoy passed away reached me at Goldsmiths library and I wept next to @ncmmorris— Daisy (@oddspocks) February 27, 2018
Mr. Spock, you changed my life. I became a scientist. I believe in logic and reason. I love space, the unknown, and humanity. Live long and prosper. ? |2.27.2015| @TheRealNimoy@StarTrek#LLAPpic.twitter.com/iEiey4Ehpo— Madeline Brumby (@madbrumby) February 27, 2018
